The Pandeshwar temple is located in the Pandeshwar village in Purandar Taluka, Pune District, Maharashtra, India. The distance between the Pandeshwar temple and Pune is approximately 50 km. The temple is located off Jejuri-Morgaon road.

How to Reach the Pandeshwar Temple?

To reach the Pandeshwar temple, take a left turn after Jejuri, which goes to Morgaon. Take a left turn from the Maavadi village bus stop (There are also other ways to go there via Naazire and/or Javalarjun villages). Go straight and turn right where the road ends. You would reach the Pandeshwar village. This road is quite rough. Follow the road and you would reach the temple. Seek help from locals if unsure.

What to See in and Around the Temple?

The Pandeshwar temple is an old Shiva temple. It is said that it was built by Pandavas in one night. There are other small temples around it, including a Kunti Mata temple. There is a beautiful Shiva lingam inside the temple. It seems the temple is carved out of a single rock. Beautiful designs are carved on the temple and pillars. There is a Nandi in front of the temple. You can climb on top of the roof over Nandi. There is a small staircase to go on the roof. There is a tower on the left side, which has some carved pictures. Around it, there are also some structures, which you can climb up and take photographs of the whole temple. Half an hour is sufficient to go around. The temple is worth visiting once.

Thousands of people visit Jejuri each year to take the darshan of Khandoba. The Pandeshwar temple is just 9-10 km away from Jejuri. So, it is a good add-on trip. Otherwise, you can also make a separate trip and see other temples like Sangameshwar, Shreenath Mhaskoba of Kodit, and Lavthaleshwar in a day.
