The 28th Nakshatra:
Taittriya Samhita and Atharvaveda mention 28 Nakshatras. The name of the 28th Nakshatra is Abhijit. Ancient astrologers used the 28 Nakshatra system, but they were not of equal degrees. Hence, for convenience, Abhijit Nakshatra was removed from practice, making the rest of the 27 Nakshatras 13 degrees 20 minutes.
