जो कठिन बंधनों को काटने वाली, कठिन कार्यों को सिद्ध कराने वाली तथा सभी संकटों का नाश करने वाली हैं।

जो पतन/दुर्गति से उबारने वाली, संकट का विनाश करने वाली और असाध्य विपत्ति को मिटाने वाली हैं।

जो दुर्लभ ज्ञान देती हैं और दैत्य लोक के लिए दहनकारी दावानल (महाअग्नि) समान हैं।

जो सबसे दुर्गम लोकों में विद्यमान हैं और आत्मा के गहन स्वरूप के रूप में जानी जाती हैं।

जो कठिन मार्गों में भी मार्ग दिखाती हैं, गूढ़ विद्या का स्वरूप हैं और जिनका आश्रय दुर्लभ परन्तु शुभ है।

दुर्गमज्ञानसंस्थाना दुर्गमध्यानभासिनी ।
जो दुर्लभ ज्ञान में स्थित हैं और गहन ध्यान में प्रकट होती हैं।

जो अविद्या-मोह का नाश करती हैं, कठिन मार्ग से पार ले जाती हैं और गूढ़ अर्थ का साकार रूप हैं।

दुर्गमासुरसंहन्त्री दुर्गमायुधधारिणी ।
जो दुर्गम असुरों का संहार करती हैं और दुर्लभ/भयङ्कर आयुध धारण करती हैं।
दुर्गमाङ्गी दुर्गमता दुर्गम्या दुर्गमेश्वरी ॥
जिनका रूप दिव्य और दुर्गम गुणों से युक्त है, जिन तक पहुँचना कठिन है और जो दुर्गम लोकों की अधिष्ठात्री ईश्वरी हैं।

दुर्गभीमा दुर्गभामा दुर्गभा दुर्गदारिणी ।
जो भयंकर रूप में दुर्ग का संहार करती हैं, तेजस्विनी हैं, जिनकी आभा पाप का विनाश करती है, और जो संकट को काटने वाली हैं।
नामावलिमिमां यस्तु दुर्गाया सुधी मानवः ॥
जो विवेकी मनुष्य इस नामावली का पाठ करता है —

वह सभी प्रकार के भय से मुक्त हो जाता है — इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं।

Durgā durgārti-shamanī durgāpada-vinivāriṇī
She removes sufferings and wards off calamities.
Durgamac-chedinī durgasādhinī durganāśinī
She cuts difficult bonds, fulfills impossible tasks, and destroys all troubles.
Verse 2:
Durgatoddhāriṇī durganihantrī durgamāpahā
She uplifts from misfortune, destroys adversity, and removes unbearable troubles.
Durgamajñānadā durgadaitya-loka-davānalā
She grants rare spiritual knowledge and is like a forest fire to the worlds of demons.
Verse 3:
Durgamā durgamālokā durgamātmā-svarūpiṇī
She is more inaccessible than the most inaccessible realms and is the very form of the inner Self.
Durgamārga-pradā durgamavidyā durgamāśritā
She guides through difficult paths, is the embodiment of rare wisdom, and is attained only by the few who take refuge in her.

She is fearsome when needed, radiantly beautiful, luminous, and she uproots every hardship.
