Famous actress Nayantara converted to Hinduism. She was initially a Christian and her original name was Diana Mariam Kurian. The conversion occurred in an Arya Samaj temple in Chennai on August 7, 2011. She preferred to continue with her screen name Nayantara henceforth.

It is believed that she has converted to Hinduism to get married to the famous choreographer and actor, Prabhu Deva, who is a Hindu, but the actual reason is still unclear as she has maintained silence on this issue. Prabhu Deva has recently divorced her wife.

I think it is her own decision and she is wise enough to decide independently. Some Christian organizations have reacted sharply to it, which is an immature reaction. Many Hindus also convert to Christianity. As long as the person agrees with the ideology of the particular religion, there is nothing bad in it.

So, we welcome and congratulate Nayantara for her decision to convert to Hinduism.
