Mr. Jagdish Tytler’s visit to Jagannath Temple opposed by BJD MLAs

On March 16, 2011, Mr. Jagdish Tytler visited the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Orissa, India. The issue was raised in the Orissa Assembly by BJD MLAs claiming that it hurt the sentiments of local people and priests in the Jagannath Temple as Jagdish Tytler is a non-Hindu and non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the Jagannath Temple.

Mr. Jagdish Tytler replied to this issue as nonsense because he is a Hindu and had visited the temple four times before and no one objected. So raising the issue now is just a political stunt.

Whether he is a Hindu or non-Hindu is meaningless because a true Hindu would never restrict anybody from entering any Hindu temple on Earth. Only those who are ignorant about Hinduism can raise such issues and would not allow non-Hindus to enter the Hindu temples. It is really disgusting that in the 21st Century also, some foolish people fight on these issues. As a Hindu, I condemn those who restrict anybody from entering a Hindu temple.
