According to the cable released by WikiLeaks, on March 23, 2011, Mr. Narendra Modi, Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat, is the only honest Indian politician to date.
It is good to hear that there is at least one honest politician in India. There may be others also who are honest, but Mr. Narendra Modi is the only one whom Mr. Michael S. Owen, the Consul General of the US in Mumbai, referred to as one. He also further referred to him as “a no-nonsense, law-and-order politician who looks after the interests of the Hindu majority.”
The news is interesting because the US Government had denied a visa to Mr. Narendra Modi because of his alleged involvement in the Gujarat riots in 2002.
